If you are tired of hunting Easter eggs and stuffing yourself silly with chocolate, why not catch a break or two this Easter and use the holiday to visit one of the top surfing beaches.
Southern Portugal
Southern Portugal might be close to the rest of Europe, but you will be surprised to find that is a lot warmer than the rest of Europe. If you already live on that side then you will be able to get cheap flights, but if you live on the other side of the world, it is still a top surfing spot that you should visit. Southern Portugal offers good wine and the perfect surf season for all levels.
Northern Spain
Northern Spain is not as warm as Southern Portugal, but surfing here is great. Northern Spain is the home to some amazing waves, great food and some beautiful scenery. All in all, this is a great place to surf, relax and soak up the atmosphere.
Indian Ocean
The surfing season really starts to kick off in April in Sir Lanka, Indonesia and the Maldives. No matter where you go in the Indian Ocean, you will not be disappointed with long distance ocean swells and beaches lined with palm trees. The waves will differ from beach to beach, so no matter what your surfing experience is, you are sure to find a wave you can take on.
Barbados
The surf season here is actually calming down in April, but you will still be able to catch the late season surf, and the best thing, is that it will be a lot quieter. Barbados is all about the surfing, so get ready to relax in the sun, drink some rum, eat fresh fish and surf all day.
California
You can’t go wrong with taking a trip to California for your Easter surfing holiday. This is the perfect time for hitting the long peeling waves on a coastline that is littered with surf. Make California your surfing playground, from Malibu to Trestles; California has something for all surfers.
