When boarding a flight most people don’t even think twice about whether or not the plane has been cleaned correctly after each flight. With the amount of passengers that board each flight on a daily basis, you are bound to come across a host of germs.
Below you will find a list of the 5 dirtiest items on an aircraft.
1. Lavatory
This fact might not come as a shock, but the airplane bathroom is one of the filthiest sections. Think of how many people visit the lavatory each flight and how often the toilet gets cleaned.
The dirtiest part of the bathroom is, in fact, the flush button. The airplane flush button is the section that gets overlooked most often, unlike the toilet seats, floors and other areas of the lavatory.
2. Seatbelt Buckle
The seatbelt buckle is probably the most touched item in the plain, as everyone has to buckle up when you get yourself seated and throughout the journey. Many people are ill or do not wash their hands after going to the bathrooms. Seatbelt buckles do not get cleaned that often and are a breeding ground for nasty germs
Think about how many times you touch your face, eyes, mouth, and nose after buckling your seatbelt. Is it a scary thought right?
3. Tray tables
The tray table is the dirtiest item in an airplane. Think about how many people touch the tables, how many children wipe their cooky goo hands on them and how many sick people sneeze over them.
4. Aisle seats
Aisle seats are one of the dirtiest parts of the plane and get overseen very often. Everyone that enters the plane touches the aisle seat to get to their location marked on their plane ticket. Like the other seats on the airplane, the aisle seats do not get washed very often and is the perfect breeding ground for germs.
5. Seatback pockets
Many people do not think twice when taking a book from the seatback pocket. Have you ever wondered how many people throw their used wrappers, kleenex, half eaten food, even spilled drinks? It is a breeding ground for bacteria and most of the time it does not get cleaned correctly, only the items you can see at first glance.
Best advice is to avoid the seatback pocket at all costs.
Next time you board a flight, consider taking your own sanitiser to avoid all these germs and viruses.
